The Ethics of Architecture and Other Contradictions

It’s good to have this conversation. I disagree with what Tom says about modernism and glass boxes. Under capitalism it may have devolved to that condition, but its origins were in providing housing for everyone.

The brief interview doesn’t mention the great contribution to challenging the ethics of architects (and the AIA!) that ADPSR and its president Rafael Sperry has brought forward. The larger question is how can architecture survive in late capitalism? The answer lies, at least partially, in Fisher’s comment about architects saying, “No.”
